David is the Curator of Time, Navigation and Transport at the Science Museum – London and formally a Curator of Timekeeping at the Royal Observatory – Greenwich.

Horological Club tutor and member of the B.H.I. Richard will be talking on one of his speciality subjects.
The History of Smith’s and allied Companies – John Glanville
Observatory Time for the Public from 1880 / 1970 – David Read.
Time and the history of science have always been major interests for David. Since retiring he has done further research in the history of technologies in both horology and radio and lectured on both subjects at the Victoria & Albert and National Maritime Museum.
